Al Johnson (I need a photo here)

Al Johnson was the driving force behind the Unifics. Between the early years (1966-72) and their return (2004), he recorded three solo albums, showcasing his talents as a songwriter, singer, producer, and arranger. He contributed with vocals or production in recordings by Terry Huff & Special Delivery, Roberta Flack, Whispers, and Bloodstone to name a few.

Former Slave members, trumpet player "The Fearless Leader" Steve Washington and tenor/alto saxophonist Thomas Lockett together with guitarist Charles Carter, vocalists Starleana Young, and Curtis Jones, released their first album in 1980. Mark Adams, Steve Arrington, Phillip Field, Buddy Henderson, Jennifer Ivory, and Mike and William Young also passed through the group.
